Product Description
Product Description

Wind Turbine Steel Plate - the backbone of clean, renewable energy production. As the demand for sustainable energy sources increases, the need for durable and reliable materials like steel to construct efficient wind turbines has become paramount. Our wind turbine steel plates offer the strength and resilience needed to build reliable onshore and offshore wind turbines that can withstand the test of time.

Wind turbines are subject to significant stresses, which can affect their functionality and lifespan. Structural steel is commonly used in the fabrication of engineering components and structures, with S235, S275, and S355 being popular grades for construction projects in Europe. The main type of structural steel used in wind turbine design is EN10025 S355 (or EN 10225 S355). The "S" designation refers to structural steel, and the sub-grades JR, J0, J2 indicate material toughness at specific temperatures using the Longitudinal Charpy V-notch impacts test methodology. For example, S355JR can withstand an impact energy of 27J at 20°C, while S355J2 can withstand an impact energy of 27J at -20°C. The impact strength of the steel decreases at lower temperatures, making S355J2 a more suitable choice than S355JR or S355J0 if the structure is likely to experience temperatures as low as -20°C. S355N and S355NL are weldable fine grain structural steels, with S355N having an impact energy of 40J at -20°C and S355NL having an impact energy of 27J at -50°C. The N and NL designations indicate that the steels have been normalized or normalized rolled, respectively.
